  Tonight we have dined in with them. We come here many times and we love the ginger chicken here. I thought I would do a Yelp review. So we ordered 2 orders of cold ginger chicken, one mini chow mein with sweet sour pork for our daughter, and two pieces of egg fuyung for our 2 boys to share. We enjoy coming here often. The family that works here are friendly and kind. Tonight they gave us a couple of crispy gau gee on the house. Totally sweet of them. I used to come here a lot for lunch breaks when I used to work koolau theaters 2 to 3 years ago. They are also affordable too. Which is a plus.

  Stopped in for a plate .... the price is not bad $9.42 with tax for a two item plate.   My review is always based of course in my experience.  I wanted to eat something different for grind.... it was alright.  I think portion was good for the price.   So definitely earns a star.
  
  Customer service was great ... it's very family driven business the daughter and mom are definitely friendly and even make suggestions on what to try.   So that definitely gets 2 stars  
  
  The food was alright nothing that made the fat happy cells go boooom.   It was a yay we are eating something kind of feeling.   I was really wanting some chow fun ... but was disappointed it was bland no flavor to it... lacked a few things.  The sweet sour pork was very chewy probably could have benefited boiling longer or something to make it a bit more tender....  Jai was actually pretty good lots of veggies..., however based on 3 items only 1 satisfied the hunger.   So no star on this
  
  I do have co-workers that love this place.  I will revisit and do an update if I decide too... plus try something different.   Go check it out a small hole in the wall....

  Another chance given...
  
  After reading Christine L.'s and Masa K.'s reviews, I returned to this cozy restaurant on the Windward side of O'ahu.  I visited a couple of times prior to this, but wasn't that impressed. I think it's because I just ordered Beef Broccoli...my fault for not being adventurous.
  
  Giving this place another look, I've noticed a few things:
  
  Service: it appears that dad runs the kitchen; the son runs the front as cashier, order taker, and bubble drink maker; and mom goes in between. Everyone is humble, polite, and hard working. Kudos to the son who makes great effort to chit chat with customers!
  
  Environment: clean, old-school type of place with an almost hole in the wall ambiance. There are several tables and chairs for dining in.
  
  Beverages: "not powder", but made with "fresh fruit".  I got the lychee boba drink which was just right...not too sweet with chewy boba!
  
  Food: I got the item that jumped out at me - the hum hah oong choi with pork and 2 scoops white rice... whoa!  Don't tell my mom, but this version is better than hers because of the BOLD flavors! I had to balance it out with the rice and couldn't stop eating it! Yeah!  Onolicious!
  I also got the Sweet Sour Cabbage which was different from what I've had because the sauce was thicker and sweeter. On the other hand, the Rice Cake was a generous portion and topped off my happy tummy!
  
  If you are visiting The Valley of the Temples or are in the Ahuimanu/Kaneohe area, stop by this Chinese restaurant, known for its Roast Pork and Cha Siu. (I want to go back and try the Honey Walnut Shrimp and Cake Noodles.) You'll be pleasantly surprised!

  Okay so that was a waste of time. It's 6:30pm they no longer have anything in the warmers to make multiple choice plates like Panda Express even though the sign outside says that they close at 8:00pm (they were actually washing everything down). I wouldn't be so upset if they had told us that the last time we came a couple of weeks ago and left because there were no multiple choice plates instead of coming back a second time just to find out now. But you can order dishes which is much more expensive.

  Too lazy to find parking and trek through Chinatown?  Temple Valley Chinese is notorious for its roast pork, Char Siu and turkey tails... yup, you'd never guess it!  It's located in the sleepy Temple Valley shopping center in Kaneohe.
  
  In all fairness, I've only come for the roast pork, Char Siu and stir fried eggplant.  However, these are the BEST!  Definitely crave-worthy!  The roast pork and Char Siu is freshly made in house daily.  They do sell out some days, so it's best to go by lunch time.  So what makes it so good?  The roast pork is crispy and has a nice balance of meat and fat.  The Char Siu is made of good cuts and perfectly caramelized.  Nothing is overly seasoned and cooked perfectly.  It is priced the same as Chinatown, and tastes much cleaner to me.  They don't have eggplant every day, but when they do, it's a must try.  It's sweet and sour and so good!
  
  If you're on the Kaneohe side, Temple Valley Chinese is a must stop!!
